What is Going on in the 19th Century?
The 19th century in Europe was a time of change. Some good changes some bad changes but all-in-all it was a time of change. The entire continent changed politically, economically, religiously, socially, intellectualy, and artistically, under three main ideologies. those ideologies were Liberalism, Conservativism and Nationalism. Some of the changes may have seemed to hurt Europe, but essentially made it into the Europe we know today.
The Liberal movement efected the political thought of Europe by granting sometimes larger amounts of freedom than others but never the less freedom which allowed for positive changes. For example, the Industrial Revolution gave engineers, and inventors free guide lines to pursue to create anything that they thought plausable. Similarly, the Romanticism movement allowed painters and artists to create paintings and anything that showed what they thought of the government. The artists could create anything that showed their personal "character". On the opposing side of the Liberal movement, there was the Conservative movement.
The Conservative movement was a reaction to the Liberal movement, and didnt exactly grant "freedom" but still changed Europe. Not as many of the Events in 19th century Europe had a Conservative basis but it was still a big part of the changes and the events of 19th century Europe. The easiest ideology to place on 19th century Europe is nationalism.
Nationalism was the most noticeable ideology in the 19th century. Romanticism has records of nationalism because the paintings and art work showed the nationalism the artist had for their country. Also, nationalism can be seen in The Unification of Italy with the country coming together the citizens of the country had to show the pride they have in their country in order for the country to be unified. Those are the main examples of nationalism in the 19th century.
The main cause of the changes during the 19th century in Europe were those three ideologies, of Liberalism, Conservativism, and Nationalism. The changes had political, economical, religious, social, intelectual, and artistic effects on all the countries of Europe to turn it to turn it towards the Europe we know today.

RYAN MILLER!!
You did a really great job covering nationalism, liberalism, and conservatism in your essay. You could have included more of the events from the nineteenth century but you made up for it by going in depth on all the "-ism"s. Good job relating each of the ideologies.
It was good and what you talked about was very detailed but you could have included many more things in this essay
Hey,
Your blog answered the question very nicely brandon. However, I think you should have went into details because all you have here is a large summery.
Nice job though.
Bradon, i have to say you did a fine job on the areas you choose to focus on, ill admit i think a different approach to the essay may have been more sucessful though , such as many other studenst did by describing politcal economical etc.
Brandon
Nice job. You organized it a different way than other people which I think was good. I think it could have been a little bit more in depth but it was good.
